James "Yank" Johnson Funeral services for Mr. James "Yank" Johnson, 52 of Marshall will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday December 18, 2010 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at McJohnson Cemetery. Viewing will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday December 17, 2010 at the funeral home. Mr. Johnson passed away December 11, 2010 in Marshall. James "Yank "Johnson was born September 13, 1958 in Marshall to Doris and Peggy Johnson. He was employed with Tyson Food Company and attended the Church of Christ at New Zion. Surviving Mr. Johnson are his son, John Carpenter of Marshall; six sisters, Sheila Dixon, Brenda Simmons, Monica Henry, , Obelia Johnson all of Marshall, Elaine Pleasant of Lakeport and Regina Johnson of Longview and three brothers, Calvin Johnson of Austin, Darwin Johnson of Houston and Douglas Johnson of Desota.
