Obituary

James "Punkin" Robert Perkins passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 in Shreveport, LA after a 7 month fight from surgery complications. He was born March 28, 1948 in Marshall, TX to Ann and Maxie Perkins.  He graduated from Marshall High School in 1968.  He was a former fireman with the Marshall Fire Department, and retired from Harrison County Road and Bridge.

Punkin loved Caddo Lake and spent days fishing with his friends and building duck blinds with his nephews. After spending a day with his nephew, he always came home with an adventure to tell.

He would feed his backyard squirrels so Annie could play and chase them. He spent hours watching her play and he never went to the post office without her.

He is survived by his son: Jarrett Perkins of Shreveport; sister: Carolyn Simmons of Marshall; nephews: Cody Cisco, Maxie Simmons, and Denver Simmons; Terrier Companion: Annie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ann and Maxie Perkins and nephew, Dusty Simmons.

Punkin's wish was to be at peace on Caddo Lake. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

A sincere thank you to his many friends, and also to his special friends, Rusty Morton, Mike Sullivan, David Weir, and Bobby Pilkington for the visits and prayers.
