Obituary

A Funeral Service for James "Jimmy/Jim" Dennis Robertson will take place at 2pm Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Summit United Methodist Church, Marshall. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Mr. Robertson passed away Sunday, January 08, 2017 in Marshall.

James Robertson, known to his friends as Jimmy or Jim, was born in February of 1952 in Marshall, Texas to John W. and Julia Martha Robertson. Jimmy was a life-long resident of Marshall and a graduate of Marshall High School. August 18, 1973 marked a special day for Jim, a day that would mold the rest of his life; Jim united in marriage with Louanne Lancaster. Jim was a proud veteran serving his country with pride and honor for 32 years in the Army National Guard. He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. Jim attended services and was a member of Summit United Methodist Church and a member of the Blocker Road Hunting Club. He loved hunting and fishing, but his first loves were his family and friends. He was an avid Texas Rangers fan and enjoyed playing many sports. You could often find Jim reading anything history or sports related and later, you'd probably hear him telling a story about what he had read or maybe something he made up on his own! He loved music of all types, but enjoyed his rock & roll. He enjoyed fixing just about anything and it was often said, "If Jimmy can't fix it, nobody can!" Jim Robertson was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He touched the lives of many and his memories will be cherished by all he knew.

Surviving Jim is his wife of 43 years, Louanne Robertson; daughters, Colleen Robertson and Cymber Morin both of Arlington, TX; sisters, Jeanette Barton of Longview, TX and Judy Beavers of Marshall, TX; grandchildren, Jackson Morin and Mary Margaret Morin of Arlington, Tx; sisters-in-law, Tammy Nutt of Marshall, TX, and Gay Graves of Baton Rouge, LA; his beloved rescue kitty, Spooky and new found friend his dog, Hank. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, John W. and Julia Robertson and brother, John Edward Robertson.
