A graveside service for James "Jimmy" Rodgers will be held at Restland Cemetery on Friday, July 24, 2020 at 2:00p.m. Bro. Kevin Langley will officiate the service. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Downs Funeral Home.

Jimmy was born in San Antonio, Texas and grew up in Bossier City, LA. where he attended school. He was an avid outdoorsman, a hardcore LSU fan and race car driver. Jimmy was well-liked and loved by many. He would do anything to help people in need. He was an elder of the former First Presbyterian Church in Waskom, Texas.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Vickie (Hill) of 40 years; two sons, Greg and Kevin; grandson, Travis and wife, Ying; great-granddaughter, Aletheia; sisters, Deborah (Ricky), Mary Jo, Georgie (Freddie); brother, Pat; many nieces and nephews.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, James C. and Margaret Ruth Rodgers; nephews, Joseph and Mark Nixon.
