A graveside service for Rev. James H. "Jim" Rust will be held on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 2:00p.m. Bro. Buddy Briggs will officiate the service.

Rev. James H. "Jim" Rust, 80, of Marshall, Texas was born on November 10, 1940 to his parents, Randolph Rust and Bernice Marie Lane. Rev. Rust passed away on January 15, 2021 in Tyler, Texas. He married Carolyn Meyers Welch Rust on March 16, 1996 in Marshall, Texas. Rev. Rust pastored numerous churches in the East Texas area. Before becoming a preacher, he served in the United States Army. He was currently the pastor of Hall Baptist Church.

Rev. Rust is survived by his wife, Carolyn Rust; children, Brent and wife, Wanda, Janet and husband, Charles, James A. (Tony) and wife, Tawnya, Paul David, Karen and husband, Ray, Sandy and husband, James, Chris and wife, Robin; sister, Lottie Torkelson; sister-in-law, Deb Rust; brothers, Terry and wife, Arlene Rust, and Lee Rust; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews.

Rev. Rust is preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Rust; step-son, Larry May; brother, Larry Glynn Rust; granddaughter, Miranda; grandson, David.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Don Preston, Terry Sharp, Billy Whatley, Garry Moore, Trent Welch, Aaron Welch, and Trey Welch. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Wes Quates.
