A funeral service for James D. Stanfill will be held at 3p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Downs Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 2p.m. - 3p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Downs Funeral Home.

James D. Stanfill was born and raised in Bastrop, LA; he was a resident of Marshall, TX for the last three years. Mr. Stanfill was a LSU football/Saints fan, loved being around his family and friends. He never met a stranger; Mr. Stanfill was loved by all.

Mr. Stanfill is survived by his three daughters, Amy Jo Stanfill, and Kelly Brandt and their mother, Paula Moore; Jami Owens and her mother, Dori McCandless; sister, Ann Reeves and husband, Alton Reeves; brother, Powell "Buddy" Stanfill Jr. and wife, Rita Stanfill; brother, William Stanfill; sister, Pat Stanfill Watridge; grandchildren, Kaleigh Brandt, Karah Brandt Morris, Ashley Nicole Brown, Keely Cole, and his little sidekick Madison Owens. Also left to cherish his memories are numerous nieces and nephews.
