Funeral services for Janet Cleek Nimmo, 77, of Marshall, TX, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 29, 2014, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bob Bryant officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Nimmo passed away December 25, 2014, in Marshall. Janet Nimmo was born June 24, 1937 in Roswell, New Mexico, to Charles Cleek and Grace Huffman Cleek. Janet married Larry Nimmo, and he preceded her in death in October of 2011. Janet was a member of Cypress Valley Bible Church and the Piecemakers Quilt Guild. Janet loved her family and her many friends. She loved to quilt, and she loved to smile. Janet lit up a room whenever she walked in. She was quick-witted and full of heart. Surviving Janet are her sons, Larry Nimmo and wife Beth of Littleton, CO, Scott Nimmo of Grand Junction, CO; daughters, Kelly Nimmo-Guenther and husband Todd of New York, NY, Kristy Arnold and husband Jim of Marshall, TX; 9 grandchildren, Bethanee McCandless, Dana Bollwerk, Craig Scott, Michael Scott, Mathew Nimmo, Sydni Arnold, J.C. Arnold, Grace Guenther, Ella Gwyn Guenther; 4 great grandchildren, Brandon and Cheyenne McCandless, Jason and Claire Bollwerk; and extended family and friends. Preceding Janet in death were her parents; her brother, Tommy Cleek; her sisters, Jean Grove, Carol Despujols; her granddaughter, Rachel Scott; and her husband, Larry Nimmo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Janet Nimmo.
