Donna Jean Joyner Houston, known to the world as "Jeanie", was born on March 27, 1949, and flew home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 19, 2025, having spent her final days surrounded by the ones she loved and cared for during her beautiful life. On that day, she was welcomed by many dear loved ones already passed, including her mother Dorothy Jean Joyner, her father Troy Edwin Joyner, and her grandmother Mattie May "Maw May" Carter Tinnin.

Jeanie grew up in and around Shreveport, Louisiana, where she met and married her husband of over 58 years, John Richard "Ricky" Houston. She and Ricky lived and worked in Marshall, TX, for over 50 years where they raised their children, Jennifer May Houston Burchfield, and John Douglas Houston and made life-long friendships.

Jeanie loved Southern Gospel music, playing card games and dominoes, and sharing food and fellowship with those she loved. She was a master seamstress and made many beautiful quilts that bless the homes of friends and family. She was a woman of service who provided nursery care for many years at Central Baptist Church and served the community as a Pink Lady at Marshall Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Heart and Hands Quilt Club, along with the Sewing Sisters and the Mary Martha Sunday School Class of Central Baptist.

Jeanie is survived by her loving husband, Ricky; her children, Jennifer Burchfield of Wylie, TX, and Doug Houston and his husband Philip Law of Irvine, CA; her grandchildren: Renae Cisneros and her husband Steve Cisneros of Pilot Point, TX, Kendall Burchfield of Longview, TX and Dorothy Houston-Law and Boden Houston-Law of Irvine, CA; and her great granddaughter, Lyric Ann Cisneros of Pilot Point, TX. She is also survived by her bonus daughters, Elizabeth "Liz" Leslie Grigorian and her husband Alek Grigorian of Fort Worth, TX, and Nancy Weber of Wylie, TX; her brother, Henry Joyner and his wife Chrissie Joyner of Beaumont, TX; cousin Herschel Cobb of Shreveport, LA; brother-in-law Charlie Houston and his wife Billie Houston of San Antonio, TX; and brother-in-law Jerry Houston and his wife Sue Ann Houston of Ruston, LA; along with numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
