Jeff "Cowboy"
Anderson
Nov 29, 1963 — Aug 6, 2023
Marshall
Jeff "Cowboy" Anderson, 59, was born November 29, 1963, in Big Spring, Texas to Archibald "Dub" Anderson and Joyce Anderson. He passed away in his home in Woodleyville surrounded by his family on August 6, 2023. He attended Elysian Fields High School where he met his high school sweetheart Mindy Gayle Woodley. They married on July 14, 1984, and spent 39 happy years together in Woodleyville where they raised their son Cody Anderson.
Jeff began his career working in the pipeline business, alongside his late father-in-law Larry Woodley, where he learned every aspect of laying the pipeline. He began operating heavy equipment after a few years and spent the rest of his career as an Operator and Foreman. He had a great love for all water whether it was the lake, ocean, or the pond by his home. The family spent many weekends and holidays at Lake of the Pines with friends and family tubing, boating, fishing, and cooking. His favorite times at the lake would be getting up early to watch the sunrise and going for a boat ride to the middle of the lake to watch the sun go down. He adored his granddaughter Gianna who affectionately called him Popeye. He taught her to swim, helped her catch her first fish, and they spent many happy hours playing like kids.
Services for Jeff will be on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 10 am at Downs Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Coburn officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Cody Anderson, Dusty Woodley, Brian Brown, Brandon Brown, Curtis Redd, Trey Hicks, and Sean Struwe. Honorary Pallbearers are Keith Woodley, "Pudge" Derek Duncan, Brady Kincaid, Jim Kelley "Snake", Mark Browning, Clint Creamer, Fritz Anzel, Big River Contractor Crew, and the many pipe liners he worked with over the years.
Jeff is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Mindy Anderson; Son, Cody Anderson and wife Katie; Granddaughter, Gianna Mendoza; Father, Archibald "Dub" Anderson and wife Melba; Brother and Sisters-in-Law, Terri Brown, Keith and Debby Woodley. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and his loyal fur baby Tito who never left his side.
Jeff was proceeded in death by his mother, Joyce Anderson, brother, Alan Anderson, mother and father-in-law, Larry and Linda Woodley, and brother-in-law, Skeeter Brown.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tracy Findley Memorial Foundation at Verabank, which honored Jeff as a recipient this past Spring.
