Obituary

Jeffery Scott Graff, 57, of Wake Village, Texas passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, after an extended illness. A funeral service for Mr. Graff will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, August 30th in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Warbington officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm, Saturday, August 29, 2026.

Jeff was born on October 28, 1968, to John Y and Charlene Graff. The oldest son, Jeff attended Marshall schools where he excelled as a member of the Maverick baseball team before graduating from Marshall High School in 1987. Growing up, Jeff enjoyed playing baseball with his brother, Chad, and going to the deer lease, lake and many other outdoor adventures with his brother, parents and friends. After high school, Jeff played baseball at Texarkana Junior College, where he was drafted by the Chicago White Sox. After college, Jeff returned to Marshall, where he went to work for Harrison County Road and Bridge. During this time, his children Tyler Reese and Keelie Shea were born. Jeff's children were the joy of his life.

Jeff moved to Texarkana and went to work for Windstream, where he found he had a passion and a gift for working with telecommunications. While at Windstream, Jeff met the love of his life, Debbie, and they were married on January 11, 2001. Debbie's daughter, Tori, became Jeff's third child. Jeff and Debbie enjoyed spending time with their children, fishing and hunting. As much as they enjoyed time with their children, time spent with their grandchildren took that joy to a whole new level.

Jeff and Debbie attended Mulberry Springs Baptist Church during the time they lived in Hallsville and Bro. Danny Warbington held a special place in Jeff's heart as a pastor and longtime family friend. Bro. Danny remained a constant source of support during Jeff's illness.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, John Y "Jackie" Graff and father in law, Jeral Hayes.

Jeff is survived by his wife Debbie of Wake Village, Texas; son Tyler Reese Graff and his wife, Morgan, of West Monroe, Louisiana; daughter Keelie (Ford) and her husband Thomas, of Dallas; step-daughter Tori (Beaty) and her husband Blake, of Hallsville; mother Charlene Graff of Marshall, brother Chad Graff and his wife Kelly of Marshall; grandchildren Harrison Scott Graff, Scarlett Mae Beaty and baby boy Beaty due in December 2026; niece, Darby (Marsh) and her husband Tyler;  and nephew Garrett Graff and his girlfriend Kira Strauss.
