Obituary

A graveside service for Jennifer Lou Oney, 72, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Algoma-South Cemetery under the direction of Downs Funeral Home.

Jennifer was born in Center, Texas on April 9, 1950, to Buford Harrison Ogden and Annie Marie Ogden and passed away on October 29, 2022, in Marshall, Texas.

She attended Marshall schools and at the age of 50 she proudly received her G.E. D. diploma. On March 6, 1985, she married the love of her life, Charles Ray Oney. They were married 10 years until the time of his death.

In her early years as a teenager, her first job was at the Sonic on Grand Ave., and she had so much fun there. She worked for Watson Oil Co. for many years and her mother did as well. More recently she was a sitter for the elderly for many years until her retirement. She had a strong work ethic which she got from her parents and passed on to her children. She gave her all no matter what the task was.

She was the life of the party and could out dance most anybody. She loved listening to Elvis Presley and Chubby Checker and doing the twist. Her favorite country singer of all time was George Jones.

She had a heart of gold and always had a smile on her face no matter what she felt. She was kind, considerate and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. If she laughed, you couldn't help but laugh too. She was the warmest and most down to earth person you could ever meet. Her children are a reflection of the love, kindness and open arms she had for all. She held her family close to her heart, she cherished every moment spent with them. A phone call or a visit were gifts she never took for granted. She loved her family with all of her heart and showed it with her bigger than life hugs. At the end of every phone call or visit she was always sure to say, "I love you". She had the most precious and loving soul. We know Jennifer is rejoicing in heaven right now with her loved ones and with our Lord, Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Marie Ogden; her husband Charles Ray Oney; two sisters, Merle Jeanette Ogden and Annie Faye Robbins.

She is survived by her children, Sondra Easley and husband David, Dewayne Holder and wife Caroline and Jennifer M. Oney; she was known as Grandma, to six surviving grandchildren including, Antonio Hernandez, Cotey Griffin and wife, Yesenia, Holly Griffin and fiancé Nick Dominguez, Matthew Holder, Kaitlyn Holder and fiancé Josh Hodges and Jacob Holder; she was known as Grandma Lou Lou to five surviving great grandchildren, Karmen Griffin, Kurt Griffin, Cotey Griffin Jr., Norah Griffin and Josey Dominguez; siblings are Larry Ogden and wife Linda, Pam Ogden, Randy Ogden and wife Patty along with numerous other family and friends.

Jennifer also brought joy and love to many other family members and friends.
