Jerrold Kent Vaughn, "Papa J", was born on February 5, 1966, in Lone Star, Texas, to Harley Bennett Vaughn and Patricia Neely Vaughn.

He graduated from Marshall High School with the Class of 1984. He spent his entire working career in the manufacturing industry and worked at Voith Paper Fabrics in Greenwood, LA, for 24 years as a department manager. He attended River Crossing Cowboy Church.

He was married to Teresa Ann Wallace on March 19, 1999, in Marshall, Texas; including marriage they celebrated 28 wonderful years together.

He was an extraordinary man. He never met a stranger. You became "one of his" from the very first "Hi!" he ever said to you. He would come running anytime anyone needed him. His smile could light up an entire room, and it wasn't often you saw him without it. He enjoyed tinkering with one of his many projects, fishing, and watching College Football. Mostly, he loved spending time with his family. He had the biggest heart, and he always made sure to make everyone around him feel loved. His grandkids were his pride and joy, and he was the absolute best Papa J they could ever ask for. Jerrold was nothing short of Hall of Fame worthy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Patricia Vaughn, his paternal and maternal grandparents, brother Barry Young, sister Marsha Yancy, and his in-laws Jim Bob and Doris Wallace.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Teri, of 28 years, daughter LeAnne Seals and husband Dellen of Gary, TX, sons Jerrod Vaughn of Goodlettsville, TN, Rusty Phillips of Marshall, TX, and bonus son John Blackstock and wife Rachel of Jefferson, TX. He was beyond proud of his 8 grandchildren, Brodey, Braylon, and Brixon Seals, Kannon and Stella Vaughn, and Kyleigh, Braxten, and Hadlee Blackstock. He also had four bonus granddaughters he loved dearly: Makynze, Brooklyn, Dakota, and Jaelyn Adams. Jerrold was one of eight children, and his siblings meant the world to him. Sister Kristi Wilson and husband Rick of Marshall, TX, brothers Wayne Vaughn and wife, Mary, of Pleasant Garden, NC, Richard Gibson and Lauri Ann of Marshall, TX, Kenneth Vaughn and wife Paula of Alma, AR, and Mike Vaughn of Pauls Valley, OK. He also had 11 nieces, 12 nephews, numerous great nieces, great nephews, and cousins, and a host of many bonus friends and extended family members. He will be greatly missed by all.

The pallbearers will be Rodney Russell, Mark Elkins, Joe Greenwood, John Blackstock, Robert Henderson, Ronnie McBride, Matt Morris, and Zackary McBride.

Honorary pallbearers are Brodey Seals, Buddy Cox, Eddie McCarthy, Keith Festervan, Clay Marbut, Bubba Vines, and Chris Riddle.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to River Crossing Cowboy Church in Woodlawn, Texas.
