A time of visitation for Jerry Lee Kuhn, Sr., 74, of Marshall, TX, will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, January 9, 2015, at Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Kuhn passed away January 3, 2015 at his residence. Jerry Lee Kuhn, Sr., was born July 14, 1940, in Marshall, TX to Curtis Lee Kuhn and Verna Dean Beaird Kuhn. He was a graduate of Marshall High School and attended Panola College. Jerry married Brenda Holder on February 23, 1979 in Marshall. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Jerry served from 1962-1979 with Marshall Police Department, and then from 1979-1984 with the Harrison Sheriff Department as a criminal investigator. He retired from Snider Lumber as a scales operator. Jerry enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving Jerry are his wife, Brenda Kuhn of Marshall; his children, Jerry Kuhn, Jr. and wife Renee of Marshall, Curtis Lee Kuhn and wife Maxine of Austin, Amanda Wilson and husband Andrew of Jefferson, Matthew Cody Kuhn and Meagan Leigh Kuhn, both of Marshall; sister, Dorothy Coppedge of Ore City; brother, Doyle Kuhn of Marshall; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews, cousins, other extended family and friends. Preceding Jerry in death were his parents.
