A memorial service for Jerry R. Mullins, 69, of Marshall will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2013 at Summit Methodist Church with Dr. Randy Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will be in Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. Mr. Mullins passed away March 5, 2013 in Marshall. Jerry R. Mullins was born April 21, 1943 in Ben Wheeler, TX to J. W. and Betty Terrell Mullins. He attended the Waco Public Schools. Jerry married Marianne Bell on January 27, 1968 in Cleburne, TX. He was a member of Summit Methodist Church, a 32nd degree Mason with Marshall Lodge #22, and Boy Scout Leader with Mangum Methodist Church in Shreveport. Mr. Mullins was an avid reader, loved to fish, enjoyed camping and vacationing with Family and Friends (Special Camping Group). He also loved to play 42 at the Woodlawn Community Center, and was a die hard Cowboy fan. Mr. Mullins loved his kids and grandkids, and adored his wife, a true family man. Mr. Mullins is survived by his wife, Marianne Mullins; son, Travis Mullins; daughter, Amanda Rickards and husband Robert; grandchildren, Aaron Nixon, Morgan and Meagan Mullins, Lauren Rickards; aunt and uncle, Max and Ruth Mullins; sister, Ann Nava and husband Larry; 6 half brothers and sisters and numerous other loving family members and friends. Mr. Mullins was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Heiber, Lee Clegg, Curtis Williams, John Hurley, Steve Johnson, Barry Beggs, Robert Rickards, Wilson Bell, Charles Scott, Aaron Nixon, James Pieper, Noble Nordahl and Harry Haynes.
