Funeral services for Jerry Lynn "Spud" Elam, 59, of Harleton will be held at 2p.m., Friday, November 18, 2016 in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow in Algoma North Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the funeral home. Mr. Elam passed away November 12, 2016.

Jerry Elam was born December 19, 1956 in Texas to Aurthor Roy Elam and Floyd Dema Yandle Elam. Jerry was a loving father and grandfather who loved his whole family. He was very generous, giving to numerous organizations and was a member of Clearview Baptist Church. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He was also very dedicated to his job at Wesco Valve for many years. Jerry will be greatly missed.

Surviving Jerry are his two sons, William Patrick Elam and Brandt W. Porter and wife Sarah; grandchildren, Macy Paige Elam, Aleshia Porter and Lola Porter; brothers, Don Elam and wife Kathy and Keith Elam and wife Judy; nephew, James Elam and wife Kelley; niece, Sheri Walton and husband Ty; great-nieces and nephews, Kensie Elam, Nathan Elam and wife Erica, Baby Damian Elam, David Elam and Destini Elam and numerous other relatives from Hawkins, Texas and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Dema Elam and one niece, Shelli Elam.

Serving as pallbearers will be B.J. Adkisson, Manuel "Crow" Seals, James "Dudley" Cutrer, Ronnie Harris, Don Seals, and David Kirkland. Honorary pallbearers will be his Wesco Valve Family
