A funeral service for Jessie D. Marshall, 88, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2024, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Algoma North Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 30, 2024, at the funeral home.

Jessie was born on March 28, 1936, in Karnack, Texas to John Marshall and Alice Rhashaull Marshall and passed away on December 23, 2024, in Dallas, Texas.

She was a resident of Marshall up until her sickness in 2017, that caused her to move to Dallas where she lived for seven years. She was a member of Pine Bluff Baptist Church. Although she had no hobbies, she was a hard worker and loved to listen to music.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice Marshall; brothers, Leotis Marshall, Frank Marshall and Arthur James Marshall and sisters, Euniece Fields, Katie Choyce and Artelia Johnson.

She is survived by her son, David H. Marshall and wife, Angela; sister, Willie D. Choyce; grandchildren, Aaron E. Marshall and Janie R. Marshall and great grandchild, Kenland McElwee along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews along with other family and friends.
