Mr. Joe L. Perkins, son of the late Mr. Willie Perkins and Mrs. Kattie Roquemore Perkins was born on February 17, 1959 in Waskom, Texas.

At an early age, he united with the New Boggy Baptist Church where he remained a member until his health failed him.

He was educated in the Elysian Fields Public School in Elysian Fields, Texas. Joe was employed by the Trinity Rails System before retiring after several years.

Mr. Joe Perkins departed this life on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Marshall Manor West Nursing Home in Marshall, Texas.

He married the late Ms. Gladys Marie Schumpert in December of 1982. Their Twenty-seven years of marriage was blessed with two children.

He leaves to cherish his memories (1) daughter, Mrs. Tasha (Cedric) Robertson, of Marshall, Texas; (1) son, Mr. Joseph (Porsha) Perkins, of Houston, Texas, (5) brothers, Mr. James (Bobbie) Perkins, Mr. Charles (Valerie) Perkins, Mr. Frank (Pearlie) Perkins, Mr. LC (Pat) Perkins, of Marshall, Texas, Mr. Robert (Sheryl) Perkins, of Waskom, Texas; (3) sisters, Mrs. Annie Henderson and Ms. Wanda Perkins, of Marshall, Texas, Mrs. Kattie (Trennis) Willis, of Longview, Texas; ( ) grandchildren, JaVonta, Keunta, Ashton, Makenzie, Brandi and Remi; (1) great-granddaughter, Ashiya; (1) aunt, and host of other relatives, friends and a very special devoted friend and caregiver Ms. Sovia Garrett.
