Obituary

John Henry Bailey, son of Frank Sr. and Reva Edwards Bailey, was born on October 28, 1932 in Harleton, Texas. He attended Harleton public schools and Friendly High School.

At an early age, he was baptized into Christ, and was a devoted member of the Bear Springs Church of Christ of Harleton, where he remained faithful until death.  He served as a leading brother, song leader and Sunday school teacher.

He was united in holy matrimony to Bertha Tillis in May of 1960. To this union Bertha and John Henry were blessed with two lovely children.

After working 22 years as a saw operator for Fab Steel in Marshall Tx, John Henry entered retirement. He enjoyed his retirement where he relished the friends he made and the time he spent with family.

John Henry had a passion for his lawn and its aesthetic appeal. He not only took great pride in the care and design, but he eventually started his own landscaping business, Bailey Landscaping.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Tillis Bailey. His parents, Frank Sr., and Reva Edwards Bailey, brothers, McKinley (Cute) Bailey, Lonnie Bailey, Sr., Ernest (Bootsy) Bailey, and Robert Lee (Poochie) Bailey.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Dwayne Evan Bailey; daughter, Sonja Renita Bailey; sister, Annie Jewel Bailey Gray; brother, Frank Bailey Jr. (Oretha); and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
