John Duane Burnett passed unexpectedly on October 18, 2018, after a short illness. John was born September 23, 1982, at Hill Air Force Base in Utah. He graduated in 2000 from Marshall High School. He was a trained EMT in Boone, LA, where his father's family lived.

John was a happy and energetic little boy who grew into a special father, son, brother, and grandson. He loved playing video games and watching his favorite tv shows with his daughter, Larissa. John loved to work on cars and superman. He worked over 7 years as a machine operator at General Cable in Scottsville, Texas. The happiest moments of John's life were spent raising and nurturing his beloved daughter, Larissa.

Surviving John is his loving daughter, Larissa; parents, Kevin and Arlene Burnett, Stella and Mark Alexander; beloved brother to Jessica, Hope, Randi, Grace, and Franie; grandson of Bonnie and Bud Furst and Ramon and Dianna Rilling; also, many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He had a very kind heart and a quick wit and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 21, 2018, at 2p.m. at Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas.
