John T. "John Boy" Dumolt was born in New Lexington, Ohio on April 18, 1961 to Jerome Bernard Dumolt and Bonnie Ruth Ervin Dumolt. He passed away January 13, 2018 at 56 years of age.

John married Sherry Ragland on June 5, 1982 in Lake Providence, Louisiana. He was a resident of the Waskom-Elysian Fields area for 30 years, previously living in Ruston, Louisiana and Junction City, Ohio. He worked for Scandrill for 21 years.  John enjoyed watching football, wrestling, but mostly NASCAR.  He loved his shop and tinkering with everything.  The man could "fix" anything "John Boy Style".  He especially loved his family, friends, and spending every minute possible with his grandson, Beaux.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Ragland Dumolt; children, Kaitlyn Nicole Dumolt, and Jon-Paul Jerome Dumolt; grandson, Beaux Richard; brothers and sisters, Jerry and Liane Dumolt of Patastala, Ohio, Diane and Charlie Conrad of Zanesville, Ohio, Kaye and Tim Quinn of Las Vegas, Nevada, Bill and Shannon Dumolt of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kim Dumolt of Canel-Winchester, Ohio, Wendy and Buddy Brasseal of Ruston, Louisiana, Jim Dumolt of Seneca, South Carolina; special children that came along the way, Emily, Ava, and Ella Whisenhunt, and Natalie Gifford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bonnie and Jerome Dumolt; his in-laws, Norma and Alton Ragland; sister, Ellen "Rusty" Slatzer; granddaughter, Nora Jane; special son, John Todd Hight.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, January 19, 2018 in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Don Nichols officiating. Interment will follow at Yates Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 18th at the Downs Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Justin Zimmerman, DaMarcus Gordon, Blake Richard, Ryne Lindley, Clay Dumolt, Bodie Donaldson, Paul Martin,Shelton Booth, Josh Brasseal, and Jim Sutton. Honorary pallbearers are John's Crew on the Scan Victory, Lance Thomas, Paul Ives, Julio Escareno, Cesar Gutierrez, Rolando Aguindiz, Cody Hickey, Brittnay Martin, Dalton Dunn, Cody LaRoux and Justin LaRoux, Bob Amaral, Beaux Richard, and Trevor Dumolt.
