Funeral services for John Perry George, 79 of Marshall will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Full Gospel Holy Temple with Bishop Larry Kiel officiating, Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be from 5-7 p.m., Friday, July 4, 2014 at Downs Funeral Home. Mr. George passed away June 24, 2014. John Perry George was born November 29, 1934 in Harrison Co., Texas to Thomas George and Annie Smith George. John served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Full Gospel Holy Temple and worked as a service assistant at Oak Haven Recovery Center. John loved to fish and work on crossword puzzles. Surviving John are his children from his union with Ruth A. George, Jan Dixon, Kasandra Dukes, and Mechelle Kiel and husband Rodrick all of Marshall; his children from his union with LaRue Williams, Johnathan George of Marshall and Ebony Wilson of Longview; his children from his union with Cynthia Robinson, John Perry George, Jr., Christopher George, Kevin George, Michael George all of Chicago, IL and Brian George of Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren, Cortina Dixon, Anthony Dixon, Terrence Dixon, Natosha Jenkins, Tequila Dukes, Jordan Kiel and Jade Kiel; a number of great-grandchildren and great - great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann George; two brothers, Rev. RT George and Benjamin George; one sister, Annie Ruth Spencer and a daughter, Courtney George.
