A memorial service for John Rush Byassee, 70, of Marshall, Texas will be held at a later date.

John was born on October 31, 1952, in Prescott, Arkansas to Billy Sunday Byassee and Elva Fern Brashear Byassee and passed away on April 19, 2023, in Longview, Texas.

He loved riding Harley's, scuba diving, traveling and the outdoors. He loved rescuing stray dogs, hunting, fishing and wood carving. He loved his family and friends and had a big heart and loved his wife.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Elva Byassee and his brother, H.L. Byassee.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Byassee; sister, Jennifer Redmond and husband, Albert and nephews, Jason Byassee and Billy Byassee and wife, Stacy along with numerous other family and friends.

The family requests that donations be made in his honor to the Marshall Pet Shelter and/or the Adoption Center.
