Joseph Linn Brown was born to Mozella Brown and Walter Gaut on November 21, 1959 in Marshall, Texas in the county of Harrison. He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Red Oak Methodist Church in Hallsville, Texas. As a young man he joined Greater Oak Grove Baptist Church, Marshall, Texas. October 31, 1999 he received his ministry calling at Oak Hill Baptist Church where he was a First Son under Rev. Billy Flowers. He served as Youth Minister at Greater Oak Grove Baptist Church. Joseph pastored Saint Mary Baptist Church from February, 2007 to November, 2010. Joseph graduated from Marshall High School in 1978. He worked for Monarch Tile and LeTourneau. In 2007, he opened JB's Fish Fries & More and fulfilled his life time dream, which was to own a restaurant. He loved to cook and have family gatherings where he enjoyed seeing everyone happy. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Mozella & Walter Gaut and his brother Elbert Brown. He leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Marvelous Brown (Phileshea); daughters, Tawana Jenkins (Derrick Black), Brittney Brown (Rapheal Hendrix); sister, Venessa King; brothers, Michael Brown (Jean) of Dallas, TX, Lindell Brown (Rochelle) of Elk City, OK, Londell Brown (Pam) of Marshall, TX, Walter Tony Gaut of Marshall, TX, William Gaut (Nicole) of Chicago, IL; uncles Kenny Gaut (Joyce) of Elk City, OK, Robert Gaut (Linda) of Marshall, TX; aunt, Mary King (Kenneth); 7 grandchildren, Talensia Worth, Gregory Worth, Jerrold Maze, Jaylin Brown, Racalen Hendrix, Kailey Hendrix, and Josiah McGlothin; numerous nieces and nephews, a host of friends and his church family.
