Joseph Wayne Wooddell was born July 13, 1950 in Rusk, Texas to Wiley Joseph Wooddell and Lillian Edwards Wooddell, and passed away at his residence in Waskom on March 23, 2014. He attended schools in Rusk and served his country in the U.S.Army. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and his wife's best friend. Joseph loved to sing gospel music, and enjoyed fishing. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the railroad, and had formerly worked as the Animal Control Officer in Jacksonville. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Addie Ann Wooddell of Waskom; sons, Joseph Wayne Wooddell, Jr. and wife Penny, Joseph Patrick Wooddell and wife Diane, and Anthony Gregg Wooddell and wife Claudette, all of Jacksonville; daughters, Lillian Victoria D'mari and husband Amer of Marshall, Rita Jo Parker and husband Paul of Waskom, Chrisanne Rushing and husband Dale of Milan, TN, and Stephanie E. Jackins and husband John of Doyline, LA; mother, Lillian Wooddell of Jacksonville; brothers, Clifford Ray Wooddell and wife Fanny of Arlington, and Bobby Wooddell of Jacksonville; sister, Lula Joyce Lane and husband Carey of Ft. Worth; 23 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; sisters, Sue Lusk, and Goldie Dell Wooddell; twin daughters, Karyn and Sharyn Wooddell. There will be a visitation from 3-5 p.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2014 in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home in Marshall. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your local Animal Shelter or the charity of your choice.
