Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our beloved Josias Aquino, who left us unexpectedly on June 18, 2026, while at his work. Born in the charming town of Tyler, Texas, Josias was a beacon of love and dedication, whose legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him.

Josias was the cherished son of Albertina Aquino and the late David Aquino, who predeceased him. The bond he shared with his mother, Albertina, was one of profound love and respect, a testament to the values instilled in him by his parents. He was also the devoted brother to his siblings Marisol, Joey, Rubi, and Angel, who held him in the highest regard as not just a brother but a constant source of strength and laughter.

With a heart as vast as the oceans he loved to explore, Josias found solace in the simple joys of life, particularly fishing, an activity that allowed him to connect with nature and reflect on life's beauty. His passion for exploring the world was matched only by his unwavering dedication to his family. Known for always putting his family first, Josias lived a life of selflessness, doing whatever was necessary to provide for and support the ones he loved.

Josias's kindness was as natural as breathing; he was a gentle soul who brought smiles and laughter into the lives of those around him. His infectious laughter and warm spirit were a testament to the joyful way in which he embraced life and the people in it.

As we gather to celebrate the life of Josias Aquino, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have shown their support and love during this difficult time. Your presence and condolences have been a source of comfort and strength for Josias's family.

In honoring Josias's memory, let us remember the laughter he shared, the love he gave, and the life he lived with unwavering dedication to those he held dear. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his spirit continue to inspire us all to live with love and kindness.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Pena Aquilo.

He is survived by his mother, Albertina Chalres Carvantes of Marshall, Texas; siblings, Joey Capetillo of Jacksonville, Texas and Marisol Capetillo, Rubi Aquino and Angel Aquino all of Marshall, Texas; nieces and nephews, Crystal Vega, Uriel Vega, Juan Vega, Adrian Capetillo, Angel Capetillo and Joanna Capetillo and girlfriend, Cheryl Finstead along with other family and friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 28, 2026, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Yates Memorial Cemetery in Scottsville, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the funeral home.
