Juanita, known to most people as "Nita", was born on December 18, 1917, in Harleton to Charles Wesley Hollinshead and Mattie Dee Craver Hollinshead. She moved to Marshall when she was two years old, graduated from Marshall High School in January 1935, and later attended business school. In December 1936, Nita eloped with Henry Vernard "Tillie" Till, who was a theater manager. Tillie died in May 1948 as the result of an automobile accident. In August 1953, Nita married Charles William "Bill" Green, who worked for the post office for 38 years and raised cattle. Bill preceded her in death in April 1982. During her lifetime, Nita worked for Paramount and Lynn Theaters, Jefferson Amusement Company, Marshall Junior High School, and Price T. Young Elementary School. She was a homemaker, a good cook, and was involved in her children's activities, such as PTA and Camp Fire. She also graciously cared for various elderly relatives. Nita was a conscientious, kind, and considerate woman. After she retired, she enjoyed traveling, reading, playing bridge, attending church activities, tending to seasonal hummingbirds, and the "Friday Lunch Bunch". She was a member of First United Methodist Church for over sixty years, the Mary Martha Sunday School Class, and Circle 3 United Methodist Women. She was also involved in supporting and working with Al-Anon. A special appreciation is extended to her sitters, ongoing: Diane Gaspard, Janice Robison, Bessie Dawson, Shelia Starr, and Nita's daughter Charlene; others: Barbara Beesinger, Charmaine Morgan, Tasha McBroom, Heather Palmer, Jackie Singleton, and Linda Coleman; to the staff at Reunion Inn, and to the hospice caretakers. Nita was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and four siblings - Frances Hollinshead Gilliland, Chaptain Charles Wesley Hollinshead, Doris Hollinshead Murphy, and U.S. Navy Cmdr. William Gerald (Jerry) Hollinshead. She is survived by her children, Mike and Shereen Frobese Till of Katy, Sandra Till Hadock of Fort Worth, and Charlene Green Tribble of Marshall; four grandchildren, Synda Till Foreman (Scott) of Pampa, Sylette Till Kitchen (Jim) of Austin, Russell Haddock (Sarah) of Fort Worth, and Nicholas Haddock (Emily) of Dallas; eight great- grandchildren, Michael and Myles Foreman, Max and Brooks Kitchen, Ashlyn, Allison, and Anna Claire Haddock, and Beatrice Haddock; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Nesbitt Cemetery, P.O. Box 223, Marshall, TX 75671; American Cancer Society; American Diabetes Association; or the charity of your choice.
