Judy Griffin Funeral services for Mrs. Judy Griffin, 64 of Waskom will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday May 7, 2011 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Marshall with David Butler and Bro. Carlton Burris officiating. Interment will follow in Colonial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday May 06, 2011 at the funeral home. Mrs. Griffin passed away May 03, 2011. Judy Griffin was born May 27, 1946 in Ft. Worth, TX to Elmer Oliver and Mary Helen Fletcher. In 1964, Judy married Gene Griffin in Wichita Falls, TX. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and American Paint Horse Association. Judy was a caretaker of a special needs child for 46 years and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving Judy are her husband, Gene Griffin of Waskom; daughters, Sherri Schocker , Robin Christine Griffin both of Waskom and Candice Newhouse of Marshall; sons, Gene Griffin, Jr. of Marshall and Kevin Griffin of Marshall; six grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Cook of Wichita Falls, TX and brothers, Tommy Pettigrew of Ft. Worth and Jimmy Pettigrew of Waskom. She was preceded in death by her parents. Serving as pallbearers will be Benny Bradford, Donnie Bradford, Bill Bradford, Tony Griffin, Cody Griffin and Tyler Griffin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris Newhouse, Mel Schocker, James Goss and David Butler. The family would like to give special thanks to Patty Brister from Beacon Hospice.
