Services for Julian DonJuan Zuniga, 62, of Waskom, Texas are being conducted by Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Zuniga will lie in state at his home, 417 Lake Rd, Waskom, TX from 4:30pm Wednesday, September23, 2015 until 1:30pm Friday, September 25, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Waskom, Texas at 2pm, Friday, September 25, 2015. Burial will immediately follow in Restland Cemetery, Waskom. Julian DonJuan Zuniga was born June 19, 1953 in Rancho Del Piquin Municipio de Santa Maria Del Rio to Leobardo Zuniga and Adelaida DonJuan Zuniga. He was married to his wife for 42 years. Julian was a good man, always giving, and a hardworking man who worked in the oilfield for 30 years. He loved dancing and joking around, always making people laugh, always giving people nicknames. He is survived by his loving wife, Cecilia Balderas Rodriguez Zuniga; his eight children; son, Rogelio Zuniga; daughter, Rosa M. Soto and husband, Ramon Soto; son, Jose J. Zuniga and wife, Rosalva Zuniga; daughter, Maria S. Vences and husband, Anastacio Vences; son, Horacio Zuniga; daughter, Maria A. Zaragoza and husband, Enrique Zaragoza, Jr; son, Victor H. Zuniga and wife Andrea N. Zuniga; daughter, Adela Zuniga and partner, Lorenzo Delgado; and daughter, Brenda Zuniga. Julian is also survived by his father, Leobardo Zuniga; four brothers, Pablo, Jose Luis, Felipe and Norberto; two sisters, Lucia Zuniga and Maria Isabel Luna; fourteen grandchildren, Gabriela, Jackie, Johnathan, Katelyn, Ivan, Isabella, Cristian, Rogelio, Ezequiel, Alexandra, Gia Nichole, Jose Julian, Jr., Giovani and Iliana; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Adelaida Zuniga; and grandson, Rogelio Huriel. The family would like to thank all family and friends for all the love and support. He may be gone, but will be in our hearts forever.
