Visitation for Mrs. Michele Heard, 67, of Karnack will be held from 2-4 p.m., Saturday November 6, 2010 at Downs Funeral Home. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. She was born on the 1st day of spring in 1943 and 67 springs later on the 2nd day of November she passed away. Michele was the daughter of Wade E. Young and Edith Marie Butler Young. On July 7, 1962 she married Gary Heard in Garland, Texas. Michele was a registered nurse and had worked in surgery at Marshall Memorial, P&S Hospital in Shreveport, Schumpert Medical Center and retired from Highland Hospital two years ago. Surviving Michele are her husband of 48 years, Gary D. Heard of Karnack; son, Douglas D. Heard and wife DeAnn of Marshall; daughter, Kelly Heard Goswick and husband Jay of DeBerry; son-in-law, Robert Henderson of Marshall; five grandchildren, Nathan Kriegel of Marshall, Kyle Kriegel of Austin, Evey Heard, Carly Heard and Gary D. "Deuce "Heard all of Marshall and her father, Wade E. Young of Marshall. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Young and her daughter, Michele A. Henderson.
