Funeral services for Ms. Kathryn "Kat" Olds, 79 of Houston will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday February 11, 2011 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Yates Memorial Gardens in Scottsville under the direction of Downs Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday February 10, 2011 at the funeral home. Ms. Olds passed away February 07, 2011 in Houston. Kathryn "Kat" Olds was born January 22, 1932 in Tullos, Louisiana to George B. Norris and Alma Carlisle Norris. She was a homemaker and enjoyed writing poetry. Kathryn was also a loving mom, wife and grandmother. She was a Baptist. Surviving Kathryn are her daughters, Dianne Davis and Sharon Sharp both of Houston; five grandchildren, Kimberly Jo Wheeler of Katy, Donny Lee , Tina Jo Olds both of Houston, Katy Marie Olds and Lucas Taylor Olds of Union, MO; four great-grandchildren; brothers, George B. Norris, Jr. of Tulare, CA and Joe Norris of Rapids City, MI and sisters, Jean Scott of Blanchard, LA, Ina Strange of Plano and Norma Ruth Morris of Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Claude Olds; two sons, Eddie and Douglas Olds and five brothers and sisters and one grandson, Daniel Lee Miller.
