Funeral services for Kathy Lawrence Wright, 73 of Marshall will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2014 in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Rev. Rusty Rustenhaven officiating. Interment will follow in the Colonial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. The family will receive friends Monday, November 3rd, between 5-7 p.m. at the Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Wright passed away Saturday afternoon, November 1, 2014 in Marshall. Kathy Lawrence Wright was born November 23, 1940 in Marshall, Texas to Jason Lawrence and Robbie "Pud" Johnson Lawrence. She was a graduate of Marshall High School. On August 3, 1963 she married Jack Wright in El Paso, Texas. Kathy retired as a Deputy Tax Collector for Harrison County. Survivors include her husband of fifty-one years, Jack Wright of Marshall; her daughter, Vicki Wright of Houston; her brother, Jay Lawrence and wife, Cindy of Marshall; her niece, Heather Quintanilla and husband Bert of Burleson; and great niece, Sofia Quintanilla, also of Burleson. Several other cousins, nieces, nephews, and her beloved dog, "Buddy" also survive Mrs. Wright. The family request memorials be made to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The family also would like to thank the many members of the staff at Marshall Manor Nursing Home for their exceptional care, including a dedicated caregiver, Eunis Zhanda. A very special thanks to Helen Bailey, who was her devoted friend and caregiver.
