A memorial service for Ken Cochran, 82, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 2, 2026, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home.

Ken was born on September 4, 1943, in Jefferson, Texas to Alfred William Cochran and Merle Gwenatha Pack Cochran and passed away on June 27, 2026, in Marshall, Texas.

He married Linda Marie Oney on August 16, 1965, in Marshall, Texas and the two remained married until his passing. He was an avid hunter and reader. He would read everything he could get his hands on, including his Bible, which he had read through completely several times. He loved gardening, mechanic work and was a welder by trade. He was a self-made man and a jack of all trades. He loved music and playing his guitar. He made sure to pass his values down to his family, he loved his kids and grandkids and was definitely a family man. Most of all he loved his wife, Linda of 60 years and did everything to take care of her and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and five sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Cochran; children, Kirk Cochran and wife, Carlene, Keith Cochran and wife, Lisa and Shelly Godwin and husband, James; three brothers; two sisters; grandchildren, Kendall Cochran and wife, Taylor, John Schuiteman and wife, Amanda, Chad Cochran, Baylee Martin and husband, Jabe, Devin Cochran, Dylan Cochran and Karlee Cochran and great grandchildren, Kenley Cochran, Blakelynn Cochran, Kimber Schuiteman, Landon Schuiteman and Tyson Schuiteman along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
