Funeral services for Ken Wayne Lay, 78, of Karnack, TX will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 5, 2015, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Ratcliff officiating. Interment will follow in Andrews Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Lay passed away February 2, 2015 in Marshall. Ken Wayne Lay was born November 23, 1936, in Gilmer, TX, to Lynn Michael Lay and Christine Stewart Lay. Ken married Bonita Stracener on May 7, 1955, and she preceded him in death on March 9, 2007. He was a member of Karnack Baptist Church, and was a truck driver. Surviving Mr. Lay are his sons, Harlan Lay of Dallas, Mark Lay and wife Cindy of Karnack; brother, Mack Lay and wife Barbara of Dallas; sisters, SueKittrell and husband Charles, Janet Gullette of Marshall; 6 grandchildren, Steven Lay and wife Melissa, Thomas Lay and wife Daphne, Angie Shipwash and husband Craig, Monica Gallardo and husband Richard, Tara Vines and husband Bubba and Clint Lay; 11 great grandchildren; and other extended family and friends. Preceding Mr. Lay in death were his parents; his wife; brother, Gerald Lay; and sister, Linda Kay Lay. Pallbearers will be Steven Lay, Thomas Lay, Craig Shipwash, Bubba Vines, Richard Gallardo and Bubba Ellis.
