A graveside service for Kendall Wayne Sanders, Sr., 75, of Harleton, TX will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Grange Hall Cemetery in Marshall with Steven Hammond and Roger Perkins officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2015 at Downs Funeral Home. Kendall Wayne Sanders, Sr. went to be with the Lord on August 26, 2015. Kendall was born April 21, 1940 to Josie and Thurston Sanders. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1958. Kendall attended Draughons Business School in Dallas. His career in Insurance developed when he first worked for Washington National Insurance. His last insurance job was with Reliable Insurance. Kendall married his wife of 56 years Helen Wynette Sanders, and they had four children, Marsha and Tommy Morton of Marshall, Kendall Jr. and Cindy Francis Sanders of Marshall, Janell and Tim Elliott of Hallsville, Joe and Jim of Voorhes, NJ; 2 grandchildren, Kevin and Jessie Hammond of Marshall, Steven and Joanna Hammond of Marshall; 5 great grandchildren; other extended family and friends. He was a well liked Christian man that everyone loved. We all will miss him. Kendall was employed for 33 years by the Marshall News Messenger. At the end, he was employed as a man to service all newspaper racks in the area.
