Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth "Kenny" McGuire, 65, of Marshall will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2015 in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home in Marshall with Dr. Robert Prothro officiating. Interment will follow in Algoma South Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation from 6-8 p.m., Monday, August 24th at Downs Funeral Home. Kenneth Jerome McGuire was born in Delhi, Louisiana to John Edward McGuire, Jr. and Kathryn Williams McGuire. After graduation from high school he attended Panola College. Kenny married Linda Ann Thompson on December 23, 1978 in Marshall, Texas. He worked as a Machinist-Mechanic for the Oil and Gas Industry retiring from Valerus Energy in July of 2012, where he was known as "Master Mechanic". He loved his family and his animals, and enjoyed hunting. He was a member of Port Caddo Baptist Church. Kenny passed away Friday night, August 21, 2015 in Longview, Texas. He leaves behind his wife Linda McGuire of Marshall; sons, Corey McGuire and wife, Andrea of Marshall, Jeremy Chad Guilliams and wife Stacy of Avinger, and Kenneth Michael McGuire of Shreveport, Louisiana, ; his mother, Kathryn Williams McGuire of Marshall; sister, Diana McGuire, also of Marshall; grandchildren, Bradie Guilliams, Morgan McGuire, Ryan McGuire, and Randy McGuire; mother-in-law, Virginia Thompson, and numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, and father-in-law, J.D. Thompson.
