Obituary

Kenny Charles Gillihan, Jr. passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus at his home in Marshall, Texas on September 26, 2025, at the age of 56.

Kenny was born on May 28, 1969, in Longview, Texas to Carolyn Shipwash. He grew up in Marshall with his three sisters. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Kenny was the kind of person who never met a stranger. He made friends easily and would spend quality time talking with them. He was loving, compassionate, friendly, merciful, humble, brave, bold, kind and courageous. Kenny was dedicated always to love, help and support God's people: "the least of these" Matthew 25:40. He served his Lord and Savior with his wife for 34 years in street evangelism. Kenny worked for Jadtis as a machinist, Le Tourneau as groundskeeper, Republic Cabinet Company as a carpenter, and also had a lawn service after hours. He was a great handyman and a jack of all trades. Kenny loved to work on small engines as a hobby and enjoyed fishing with his friends.

He loved his wife with all his heart and loved caring for his fur babies. Kenny will be missed every day, every night, and always. Now he is set free from all pain to live forever with Jesus on the streets of gold in heaven.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Central Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas. Celebration of Life will follow at 2 PM. Burial will take place at Yates Memorial Cemetery.
