A memorial service for Larry D. Minatrea, 84, of Marshall, TX, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2015, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Downs Funeral Home. Larry Deward Minatrea was born on Januray 26, 1931 to Oma Jewel Minatrea and Mattie Lou Lloyd Minatrea in Grand Saline, TX, and passed away on July 25, 2015. On December 23, 1954, Larry married Joyce Faye Dossett in Marshall, TX. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Anease Lambert; son, Larry Wayne Minatrea; and daughter-in-law, Connie Younger Minatrea. Surviving him are his wife of 60 years, Joyce Minatrea; his four sons, Randy and wife Susie, Ronny, Rory and wife Gwen, Robby, all of Marshall, TX; sisters, Patsy and William Gray, Brenda and Johnny Whitaker; 14 grandkids; 28 great grandkids; and numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
