A memorial service for Larry Dale "Nationwide" Jones will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas.

Larry Dale Jones was born on September 28, 1951 in Minden, LA and passed away on September 30, 2021 in Vivian, LA.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Jones; mother, Louise Posey Jones; brother, Gary Jones; sisters, Andrea Wells and Margaret Moody; and nieces, Ranea Tradewell and Kristi Williams.

He is survived by his daughters, Stacy Gentry and husband, Jonathan Gentry of Grand Cane, LA and Holly Townsend and husband, Jeremy Townsend of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Sterling Brasher of Shreveport, LA and Spencer Lipsey of Huntsville, Texas; bonus grandchildren, Sarrah Townsend, Troy Townsend and Houston Gentry; great-grandchildren, Skyler Percival and Anastasia Brasher. He is also survived by his nieces, Misty, Brandy and Shelly, and great nieces and great nephews who he loved dearly.

He was a long-time resident of Waskom, Texas. He worked as a pipeline welder for many years and was known as the man with the "Golden" arm. He was always a free spirit and was the original cowboy. He enjoyed hanging out at the local watering hole, drinking beer and shooting pool with his friends.
