Funeral services for Lauana Lea Dement, 58, of Woodlawn will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2011 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the funeral home. Mrs. Dement passed away Monday, November 21, 2011 in Longview. Lauana Lea Dement was born January 9, 1953 in La Marque, Texas to Henry Harrison Reed, III and Rose Lee Burnett Reed. She married Mason B. Dement on January 16, 1971 in Kemah, Texas. Lauana was a member of Summit United Methodist Church and a teacher's aide at Robert E. Lee Elementary School in Marshall. Lauana loved to draw and do art work at the school. Surviving Lauana are her husband, Mason B. Dement, of Woodlawn; two daughters and sons- in- law, Gillian Maxwell and husband Gary, of Woodlawn and Gisele Morris and husband John, of Marshall; three grandchildren, Lane Edward Morris, Mallory Lea Maxwell, and Katelyn Maxwell; two brothers, Doug Reed, of Arkansas and Craig Reed, of Conroe, Texas; two sisters, Billie Jo Nelson and husband Jay, of Spring, Texas and Cherokee Caddell and husband Roger, of Conroe, Texas; sister-in-law, Becky Dement, of Woodlawn and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Harrison Reed, III and Rose Lee Simons and two brothers, Henry Harrison Reed, IV and Thomas Abram Reed.
