LaVerne Fitch Davis was born January 13, 1928 in Marshall, Texas to Aubrey Fitch, Sr. and Martha Cox Fitch. She passed away Saturday morning, February 7, 2015 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview. LaVerne was a graduate of Marshall High School. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. She was a caregiver who loved to cook, loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Davis will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday, February 9, 2015 at the Downs Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Marshall with Pastor Brian Opbroek officiating. Survivors for Mrs. Davis are her children, Jean Ovanic and husband, John of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Ann Henigan and husband, James, Joan Moore, all of Marshall, and Darlene Marshack and husband, Maurice of Elysian Fields; her brother Danny Fitch and wife Gayle of Longview; 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, extended family and friends; and special friends, Vera Wilson and Jean Sepulvado.
