A graveside service for Mrs. LaWanda Faye Newsome will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 2:00pm at Gill Cemetery. Bro. Kennith Brown will officiate the service. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00pm at Downs Funeral Home.

LaWanda Faye Newsome, 69, of Marshall, Texas was born on February 4, 1951 in Dumas, Oklahoma to her parents EJ Titsworth and LaWanda Bernice Bates. Mrs. Newsome passed away on January 24, 2021. Mrs. Newsome was an early riser and diligent worker that loved helping others before herself. She enjoyed working in her yard mowing and tending flowers. Mrs. Newsome also enjoyed trips to Sams, cooking in her later years, her dog "Nicki", and the fun of dressing up for Halloween. She was a generous and loving person to all. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Newsome is survived by her mother, Bernice Brown; loving friend and partner, John Paul Moncey; daughter, Shelley Hoppaugh and spouse David; brothers, Keith Brown, Edward "Skeeter" Brown and spouse Terri, Ken Brown and spouse Maggie, William Titsworth and spouse Velma; grandchildren, Dalton Fyffe, Christian and Haden Hoppaugh. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Mrs. Newsome is preceded in death by her father, EJ Titsworth.
