Len worked for BP for 30 years. He was a very             loving husband of 42 years to the love of his life. As Carla said, "How do you sum up 46 years of life with your best friend." Len was very shy growing up, so shy that Carla's mother made him ask her out. He finally did and they had their first date on April 3, 1971 to a Grand Funk Railroad. It took 42 days for their first kiss. They fell in love and became best friends for life. There were some great times with amazing people. Len had a way with children and animals and they loved him. He was a true artist - from glass, metal, wood, computer graphics to anything that he could get hold of. There wasn't much that he couldn't fix. It's an understatement to say he was good with his hands. He was a truly patient, kind, and gentle man of few words. A loving father of two wonderful children, Kevin and Kelly, and 5 grandchildren. They had great times camping, hiking, and swimming with their dad. May his spirit flow with the winds of     nature to all the beautiful places on this wonderful beautiful earth.

LenHolmes passed away January 20, 2017 peacefully in his home. Born November 22, 1953 in Cleburne, Texas. He was preceded in death by his mom Winnie Lois Holmes, dad Darrell Sherlock Holmes, sister Vicky Jo Bownds.

Survived by his wife Carla Holmes, his mom Joann Holmes, son Kevin Holmes, daughter Kelly     Allen, grandchildren Hayden Holmes, Adia Holmes, Emily Holmes, and Matthew Allen,   bonus granddaughter Calli Mayo, sister Christy and husband Eric Keahey, brothers Dale and wife Lesa Holmes, Mike and wife Melanie Holmes.     Special nephew Shane Bownds and wife Connie Bownds.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 1-4 p.m., Monday, January 23, 2017 at Caddo Lake Park & Rec Center.
