Funeral services for Mr. Lewis Calvin (L.C.) Morris, 83, of Marshall will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday October 30, 2010 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Rev. Ezekiel McCray officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery. Viewing will be from 4 - 7 p.m., Friday October 29, 2010 at the funeral home. Mr. Morris passed away October 22, 2010 in Longview. Lewis Calvin Morris (L.C.) was born on April 22, 1927, in Marshall, to Julius Morris, Sr. and Annie Viola Winn Morris. He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church where he remained until his death. He received his education in Harrison County and retired from Marshall Pottery after numerous years of employment. Mr. Morris was united in Holy Matrimony on May 22, 1946 to Tissure Mae Walker who preceded him in death. Mr. Morris is survived by eight daughters, Leola Adams, La Doris Tisdale, Ethel Dunn, Clemmie Sparks, Nancy Williams, Patricia Johnson, Gertrude Hayley, Kathy Richardson; five sons, Allen Morris, George Morris, Larry Morris, Cordell Morris, Patrick Morris; one sister, Mary Tillis; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchild; one great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers are Willie Hudson Sr., Herbert Tillis Jr., Joel Wallace, Randy Roach, Tommy Sparks, Clarence Carr, Milton Carr, Herman Hudson, Lonnie Davis, and David York. Honorary Pallbearers include Allen Morris, George Morris, Larry Morris, Cordell Morris, Patrick Morris, Eric Tisdale, Donald Dunn Jr., Derrick Mills, Allen Morris Jr., and Anthony Johnson.
