A funeral service for L.H. "Pink Rabbit" Defriend, 86, of DeBerry, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 15, 2023, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in DeBerry, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2023, at the funeral home.

L.H. was born on January 3, 1937, in DeBerry, Texas to Vester Defriend and Lilly McLin Defriend and passed away on April 5, 2023, in Tyler, Texas.

He enjoyed working his farm, raising cows, cutting hay and being in the outdoors. He enjoyed BBQing and having family over but also had a small business and sold to others. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was a hard worker and stayed busy until he retired.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Vester and Lilly Defriend; spouse, Alice Jones Defriend; son, Lawrence Howard Defriend Jr.; stepson, Freddie Paul Sanders and son-in-law, Larry Hudson.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia J. Hudson; stepchildren, Joyce A. Jones and Johnny W. Mosley and spouse, Libby; brother, Emmit McLin; grandchildren, Montesha Hudson, Natasha Hudson and Dexter Williams, Larry Tramell Hudson and Laresha Hudson; great grandchildren, Bubba Stegall, Dexter Ryan Williams and Alana Jo Williams along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
