Lillie Waldron
Smith
Sep 14, 1939 — Oct 9, 2025
Marshall
Lillie Mae Smith, born September 14, 1939 passed peacefully on October 9, 2025
Lillie, the daughter of Annie Mae Allen Waldron and James Albert Waldron. She is survived by her six children, Kim Pugh and husband Ronald, Timmy Riddle, James "Moochie" Riddle and wife Sue, Angela Person and husband Kelly, Robert Channing and wife Deidre, and Jason Bradford, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family will forever carry her love in their hearts.
Lillie Smith, affectionately known as Memaw, was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her family and faith in Jesus touched everyone she met. She loved her family fiercely and never missed an opportunity to remind them just how much Jesus loved them too. Her greatest wish was that each of her loved ones would one day join her in Heaven.
Years ago Memaw lived in Alaska, a place she fondly called "heaven on earth." When she moved back to Marshall from Alaska she worked as a nanny for Dr.'s Lou and Kathy Balbuena, as well as Brandon and Rebecca Smith. She cared for their children as if they were her own, loving, teaching, and guiding them with a heart full of grace and joy.
Memaw was known for her kindness, her prayers, and her famous cooking. Her legendary Hershey Bar cake was always a family favorite, and her no-bake oatmeal cookies were so delicious that her children and grandchildren would playfully hide them from one another, sometimes in the most unexpected places!
In her free time, Memaw enjoyed reading her Bible, doing word searches, and coloring in her adult coloring books, she had quite the artistic touch. More than anything, she treasured time spent with her family.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Christus Trinity Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler, Texas for the wonderful care they gave her.
Memaw will be deeply missed, but her love, laughter, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
