A funeral service for Linda Cabrera, 79, of Waskom, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 13, 2023, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Lovett officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery.

Linda was born on May 23, 1944, in Rusk, Texas to James Creel and Geneva Kirkley and passed away on June 8, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She worked as a telephone repair person for AT&T for over 15 years.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Creel; mother, Geneva Kirkley; brothers, James Allen Creel and John Creel; son-in-law, Lonnie Hancock and grandson, Robert James Stephens.

She is survived by her husband, Procoro Cabrera; daughters, Debbie Hancock and Ashley Riley and husband, Tony; son, Jim Henderson; sister, Edith Johnston and husband, D.W.; brother, Kenneth Creel and wife, Cindy; grandson, Brandon Hancock and wife, Heather; 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
