Linda B.
Jones
Jun 28, 1942 — Sep 3, 2025
DeBerry
Mrs. Linda B. Jones was born to Shirley Maudine Barnes and Leslie Sherman Barnes on June 28, 1942, in Hutchinson, Kansas. She went to be with Jesus in her heavenly home on September 3, 2025.
She was a graduate of Lisbon High School in Libson, Louisiana, where she was awarded for her basketball skills. At the age of 20 she married her lifelong love, Tillman Jones. Together they celebrated 62 years of marriage and had two children. She spent 22 years as church secretary at Bethany Baptist Church and worked 22 years for her son, Todd, at Dothan Tarpaulin. She served in Bethany Baptist Church for over 50 years in many capacities. She also had her own jewelry making business and was an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics. She lived her life serving others. It was the heartbeat of everything she did. She never met a stranger or missed an opportunity to uplift and encourage someone. She was so thoughtful to write special notes and letters to people. She was always cooking for others, taking care of them, and most importantly praying for them. Many of you would be surprised to find your name in her prayer journals. She believed in the power of prayer. She had faith in God Almighty, and she loved sharing Jesus with everyone! She was extremely passionate when it came to her family and everything concerning them from her immediate family to her extended family… a true Mama Bear! She was sweet and gentle, but could turn fierce if a loved one was being mistreated or in harms way. There is no one who loved harder than she did.
There is no doubt when the angels ushered her in to meet Jesus he said, "Well done, my good and faithful servant".
She was proceeded in death by her parents and siblings Jean Ingram and Robert Barnes.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Tillman Jones, her children, Lisa Jones of DeBerry, Texas and Todd Jones of Panola, Texas, her brother Leroy Barnes, her sister Bobbie Sue Powell; her grandchildren, Brandon Dabney and Luke Dabney along with a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jay Goswick, Arturo Diosdada, Dennis Thompson, Kenneth Parker, Randy Mitchell, and Brandon "Duder" Clark.
The family requests memorials be donated to Bethany Baptist Church Missions Fund.
