Linda "Mom"
Smith
Oct 25, 1947 — Oct 20, 2025
Marshall
Linda Carlisle Smith was born on October 25, 1947, to Gerald Carlisle and Tommie Carlene Howard and went to be with her Lord, on October 20, 2025.
In 1964, she married the love of her life, Jarvis Gene Smith, Jr., and they enjoyed their life together until his passing.
She worked at Longhorn Ammunition Plant and then Morrison Jewelry until she and Gene went to own and run Many Ford & Mercury.
She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She was called "Mom" by many. She was completely devoted to her family and made sure they knew Jesus. She taught them how to fish, hunt and garden, which were some of her favorite pastimes. They could always count on her to bring home the biggest deer. She loved brush hogging on her little red tractor in the evenings at the farm. She said, "it was her time to talk to God and find peace." She also had a passion for crocheting and she made sure each one of her grands had a blanket made by her., she also loved to read and she read many books, but her favorite was the Bible. She held a deep faith and love for God and was a long-time member of Pope City Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald Carlisle and Carlene Allen; her beloved husband, Gene Smith; sister, Lawanda Hayes and brother-in-law, John Mark Phillips.
She is survived by her daughter, Vikki Joyce; grandchildren, Ashley Joyce, Jeff Joyce (Katherinne) and Nikki Blubaugh (Justin); great grandchildren, Landon Blubaugh, Mia Blubaugh, Alera Joyce and Arthur Joyce; sister, Becky Lummus (Steve Duszik); brothers, Mike Holland (Kathey), Ronnie Holland and Allen Dale Holland (Brenda) and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Phillips along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
She was adored by her family and was always there to offer advice and prayers along with a big hug and food. She will be greatly missed by everyone, but her love, faith and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was truly a great lady with a sweet soul.
