Hunt
Oct 10, 1949 — Jul 23, 2025
Marshall
A funeral service for Lois Irene Oney-Ogle-Hunt, 75, of Marshall, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 26, 2025, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
Lois was born on October 10, 1949, in Harleton, Texas to the late Raymond and Grace Oney and went home to be with the Lord on July 23, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
She graduated from Harleton High School in 1969 where she was also Homecoming Queen. She grew up in a home surrounded by love and four brothers and four sisters. As a large family, the children worked in their home from childhood. The boys hauled pulp wood and the girls worked in the cafeteria at school. This hardworking, work ethic stayed with her for her entire life. As a young woman she worked machine work at Woodlawn Manufacturing and later at Wesco Valve in Marshall, Texas for many years. Later, she worked at Sam's Club, Walmart, Freds, Hopes Closet, Dollar Tree and finally Cato until she was 73 years old. She was a hard working, beautiful, spitfire of a lady. When she was not working, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her three handsome grandsons, whom she adored. She went to baseball games, football games and thousands of McDonalds drive thrus as well as dentist appointments with a smile on her face. She was a "Nanny" who showed up and showed out. She loved mowing her yard and being outdoors. She read a billion books and owned that many pairs of shoes. She loved to travel and go gambling at the boats. Her baby sister, Shirley and her niece, Mary, went to the boats to gamble every chance they got. She lived a life full of laughter, hard work and adventure.
Preceded her in death are her parents, Raymond and Grace Oney; brothers, Ray Jr. and Donnie Oney; sister, Barbara Willis; her ex-husband and friend, Henry Ogle and her son, David Ogle.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Lisa Kelley and her son-in-law and favorite child, Ricky Kelley; grandsons, Dalton and Logan Kelley, Trent Ogle; bonus great grands, Aria Violante, Alivia Violante and Easton Smith; sisters, Linda Fugler (Dare), Brenda Truehit (Rocky) and Shirly Wilson; brothers, Dale Oney (Cathy) and Roger Oney (Barbara); beloved niece, Mary Yaw Gibson and Josh and great nephew, Dylan Parker and dozens of other nieces, nephews and friends that she loved dearly.
She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
