A funeral service for Loyce Moody, 84, of Jefferson, Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Waskom Church of Christ in Waskom, Texas. Interment will follow at Cornett Cemetery in Hughes Springs, Texas. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Loyce was born on August 31, 1939, in Hempstead County, Arkansas to Arl Woodrow Moody and Hazel Inez Bobo Moody and passed away on May 26, 2024, in Longview, Texas.

He served in the US Army Air Force. He retired from the Union Auto Workers. He played every musical instrument there is and has also played on the Louisiana Hay Ride. He loved fishing and loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arl and Hazel Moody; three wives, Clarice Carter Moody, Norma Alexander Moody and Margaret Cain Moody and siblings, Lavania Moody, Donald Quillin, Jeannie Harvel, Coburn Moody and Jerry Moody.

He is survived by his children, Carla Janene Alexander, Carla Renah Slider, Connie Cutsinger and husband, Butch, Cecelia Ann Raines, Tony Glenn McGann and wife, Debbie, Charlene LaJuan Holmes and Loyce Ray Moody, Jr.; nineteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren along with other family and friends.
